ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognized, highly credible standard that provides an organization with best practice guidelines to establish, maintain, and improve an effective quality management system (QMS). As the world’s most popular QMS standard, ISO 9001:2015 certification ensures CALPIA holds itself accountable to high standards and emphasizes to our stakeholders that we care about quality.
To receive and maintain certification to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, CALPIA must undergo an annual external audit by a third-party accreditation body known as a Registrar. The results of these audits objectively demonstrate that CALPIA conforms to all standard requirements, which encompass the following categories: Organizational Planning and Leadership, Product and Service Provision, and Performance Evaluation and Improvement.
Originally certified in 2007, CALPIA is one of only three state correctional industries in the nation to achieve ISO 9001 certification, and the only state correctional industry program to train incarcerated individual factory workers as ISO 9001 Internal Auditors.
